The Washington Nationals placed first baseman Ryan Zimmerman on the 10-day disabled list Saturday and promoted veteran infielder Mark Reynolds from Triple-A Syracuse.nike nfl jerseys wholesale cheap

Zimmerman has been hampered by a right oblique strain. He last played on Wednesday at San Diego.168

“Last couple of days he felt the same, so we decided to just give him the 10 days,” manager Dave Martinez said. “See if we can get this thing knocked out, calmed down.”

The 34-year-old Reynolds has 11 seasons of major league experience, most recently playing 148 games for the Colorado Rockies last season. He played 10 games at Syracuse this year.

Reynolds hit .267 with 30 homers and 97 RBIs last year. Washington is his eighth major league team, and he has played 695 games at first base.

“He’ll definitely help us. Veteran guy, he’s got pop. He’ll definitely get a chance to play,” Martinez said, adding that Reynolds will face some upcoming left-handed pitchers.

Reynolds gets a $1.5 million, one-year contract and could earn $2 million in performances bonuses based on plate appearances.

“Wherever Davey needs me, I’ll go,” Reynolds said. “I’m ready to go, ready to help the team.”

Zimmerman’s DL stint is retroactive to Thursday. He said he would rather rest now than later in the season.

“Smart thing to do,” he said.nfl nike jerseys cheap china

Crosby scores goal, leads Penguins to 5-1 Game 3 over Flyers

The kitschy light-up bracelets flickered in the darkened arena and another packed house roared nfl jerseys online ”Crosby sucks! Crosby sucks!” Here’s the thing Philly fans haven’t yet accepted about Sidney Crosby over the last 13 years, he really doesn’t – and especially not against the Flyers.

Crosby matched a postseason-best with four points on a goal and three assists to help the Pittsburgh Penguins silence the raucous crowd and beat Philadelphia 5-1 on Sunday for a 2-1 lead in the first-round series.

”When we needed to, we made some good plays, we got some big saves and that’s what you need this time of year,” Crosby said.

It’s the path Pittsburgh took the last two seasons all the way to parade routes in June.228

Crosby, who has 93 points in 63 career regular-season games against Philly, shut up the orange-and-black die-hards with a wraparound goal off a turnover midway through the first.

Crosby had a hat trick in Game 1 and the three-time Stanley Cup champion showed no sign of easing up against his nemesis.

The Flyers haven’t won a playoff series since 2012 and pulled out all the theatrical stops in their return to the postseason after a one-year absence.

Two of the so-called fiercest rivals in the NHL have provided three lopsided games: where to buy authentic nfl jerseys Pittsburgh’s 7-0 win in Game 1 and Philadelphia’s 5-1 victory in Game 2 could about qualify as nail-biters in this series.

Game 4 is Wednesday night in Philadelphia.

Crosby scored his fourth goal of the series in the first period, and Derick Brassard, Evgeni Malkin and Brian Dumoulin scored in the second to make it 4-0. Malkin and Dumoulin scored 5 seconds apart.

Champions League history is important… just ask Manchester City

There will be two answers to that question at Anfield on Wednesday when Liverpool face Manchester City in the first leg of their all-Premier League Champions League quarterfinal.

Put it to a Liverpudlian and it would be akin to asking a poet to reel off his favourite poem. There will be recollections of the heroics of former greats —cheap wholesale nfl jerseys from china  Kevin Keegan, Kenny Dalglish, Steven Gerrard — tales of glory in Rome, London, Paris and Istanbul, of Luis Garcia’s “ghost” goal against Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea, and countless memories of the five times that Liverpool were crowned champions of Europe.

Ask a City supporter and they will tell you that their club is now making history rather than wallowing in it. They have enjoyed taunting neighbours Manchester United about “living in the past” and, with Pep Guardiola’s team on the brink of clinching the club’s third Premier League title in six years, can rightly claim to be in the midst of their own historic period.

Yet as abstract as it may be in a football sense, history does matter in the Champions League.

You can’t buy it, touch it or devise a tactical plan to nullify it, but when Guardiola’s men stride onto the pitch at Anfield, and in the return leg at the Etihad next Tuesday, their toughest opponent might be history and the sheer weight of it against them.

A ball has not yet been kicked, but Liverpool vs. Manchester City is already a classic encounter between history and ambition.

It is the old guard against the new wave; empire against uprising. But City are not the first club to find themselves in the position of being wealthy outsiders attempting to gatecrash the elite.

Considering that Chelsea, City and PSG have spent close to £3 billion between them over the past 15 years, cheap nfl jersey wholesale it goes to show that old, accumulated wealth and history is still able to resist the power of new money.

But is there an intangible factor that makes it so much more difficult for the emerging clubs to succeed in the Champions League? Does the weight of history act as a crucial inspiration rather than a suffocating burden?

Mohamed Salah saves Liverpool after slack defence struggle at Palace

Liverpool pulled it out of the fire on a controversial lunchtime at Selhurst Park and in the process, made a giant step towards guaranteeing their place in the top four.

Mohamed Salah’s 37th goal of a campaign that defies description gave them a 2-1 win six minutes from time but Crystal Palace will wonder how on earth Sadio Mane, cheap nfl jerseys from china who equalised after Luka Milivojevic’s 12th minute penalty, was not sent off by referee Neil Swarbrick in the second half after one of the clearest second yellow card offences this season will produce.

Palace were within a whisker of opening the scoring eight minutes in. Wilfried Zaha, controlling a long James McArthur pass and holding off Trent Alexander-Arnold, found himself up against Loris Karius but the goalkeeper stood up superbly and deflected his shot over.

Four minutes later, a similar break brought greater reward. Zaha, running on to Christian Benteke’s flick at a slightly wider angle, knocked the ball past Karius but was brought down as the pair met. It was a clear penalty; Karius was booked and Milivojevic converted his ninth goal — and seventh penalty — of the season.

Liverpool controlled possession but openings were scarce. When Mane appealed for a penalty of his own after turning past McArthur, he was rightly booked for an obvious dive. Just before the half-hour he was frustrated again when his back-post header was ruled out for offside. By the interval the visitors were camped in Palace’s half but only another Mane header, tipped away by Wayne Hennessey, really threatened an equaliser.

It had been a forgettable half for Mane but four minutes after the break, he found his bearings. His finish from James Milner’s driven cross was sharp but from Palace’s perspective, all too simple. Liverpool continued to apply pressure; Salah looped a volley wide but when Palace did attack, they never looked secure.

That was summed up when Benteke missed two golden chances in quick succession, blazing horribly off target both times after Andros Townsend had twice exposed sloppy defensive play. Mane was then inexplicably not booked again nfl cheap jerseys after being penalised for grabbing the ball in search of a free kick, Karius compounding Palace’s frustration by saving Patrick van Aanholt’s set-piece.

Jurgen Klopp immediately moved to replace Mane with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. It was an end-to-end affair now but Liverpool’s 11 men found a winner. Salah, keeping his composure brilliantly after Andrew Robertson had drilled across goal, applied the finish and left Palace shaking their heads.

Mike Tomlin’s spring dinner schedule tips off Steelers’ draft strategy

When dining with a draft prospect around a pro day, Pittsburgh Steelers coach Mike cheap nfl jerseys chinaTomlin often lets the player pick the place. He figures the selection might reveal a little something about the person he’s considering in the draft.

He’s been everywhere from local barbecue spots to Red Lobster, but the food is an afterthought.

“I love getting out and meeting a young player in his environment,” said Tomlin from the NFL owners meetings at the Ritz-Carlton Grande Lakes.

The Steelers are leaving a crumb trail spanning thousands of miles, and it just might affect the Steelers’ first-round pick for the third straight year.

Two years ago, Tomlin and general manager Kevin Colbert buttoned up with cornerback Artie Burns at Joe’s Stone Crab in South Beach. They drafted him 25th overall.

Last spring, they dug in at The Great Dane Pub and Brewing Co. in Madison, Wisconsin, with linebacker T.J. Watt and Wisconsin coach Paul Chryst. Watt went 30th overall to Pittsburgh.

Joining them at the table next week is LSU running back Derrius Guice, who will dine with Colbert and Tomlin in Baton Rouge before the Tigers’ pro day.

To be sure, sharing a meal is not a prerequisite to get drafted by the Steelers. But it can definitely help, especially because of Tomlin’s affinity for the process.
Tomlin will eat with any prospect even if they aren’t expected to be on the board when the Steelers draft — like running back Saquon Barkley, a projected top-five pick.authentic nfl jerseys Tomlin proves this by revealing he dined with cornerback Jalen Ramsey, the No. 4 pick in 2016, the week of that year’s draft. The Steelers had no chance of getting Ramsey but that’s not the point for Tomlin, who’s building a file on a player for now and for years down the road.

“It’s team building,” Tomlin said. “If you’re in our business, team building is exciting. The position is exciting. We’re all undefeated and scored upon. There’s optimism associated with that. I love getting out and meeting a young player in his environment.”

Pierre-Paul trade sets stage for more Giants moves

There is an overhaul in progress at 1925 Giants Drive. New general manager Dave Gettleman is cutting, trading and allowing pieces to walk with regularity these days. cheap nfl nike jersey It’s a necessary course of action after a 3-13 collapse that resulted in coach Ben McAdoo and former general manager Jerry Reese being fired.

The latest exile from Gettleman and coach Pat Shurmur’s new regime is defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul. He was traded to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Thursday.

This move surprised even Pierre-Paul himself, according to a source. It comes just one year after he signed a four-year deal worth $62 million with $40 million guaranteed.

Those numbers are at the core of the move. Gettleman is clearing money for the future and shedding a player who didn’t really fit the team’s new 3-4 defensive scheme with Olivier Vernon also on the roster.

The Giants will have $15 million in dead money against the salary cap this year. They save only $2.5 against the cap for 2018 by sending Pierre-Paul elsewhere. It’s in the future that this move will offer its biggest benefit.

The Giants are free of Pierre-Paul’s $19.5 million cap hit next year and $17.5 million the following year. If quarterback Eli Manning comes off the books as well, the Giants will enter next offseason with financial flexibility they haven’t seen in years.

This will allow Gettleman and Shurmur to really put their stamp on the team and build a roster that fits their vision. It’s not a one-year process. Not after 3-13 with five missed playoff appearances in six years. They’re going to need two to three years to rectify some of the mistakes of the past.

The Giants don’t have a single player remaining from their 2010-13 draft classes.nike nfl jerseys cheap china  They are one of five teams, along with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Oakland Raiders, San Francisco 49ers and Buffalo Bills without anyone remaining from those four drafts. The Giants have only one player, Odell Beckham, remaining from the 2014 draft.
